In this e-learning course, Dr Catheryn Walsh will present 4 modules on the following topics:
- Imaging artifacts in ultrasonography
- Ultrasound of the liver and gall bladder
- Ultrasound of the spleen, pancreas and adrenal glands
- Ultrasound of the gastrointestinal tract and urinary tract
Ultrasound is a vital diagnostic tool in small animal practice. With many vet hospitals having access to a good quality ultrasound machine, it is becoming more widely used in day-to-day practice. In this course we will discuss the normal sonographic appearance and common pathologies that might be encountered in a small animal general practice.
Modules will be released every 3 weeks and homework should be completed within this time. The final MCQ test will be available on completion of the last module.
This program has been approved for 4 hours of continuing education credit in jurisdictions that recognize RACE approval.

Dr Catheryn Walsh BSc BVSc (Hons) MANZCVS (Radiology) Grad Cert (Hons) (Abdominal Ultrasound)
Dr Catheryn has worked in general practice for 12 years. She received a membership in diagnostic imaging in 2018, has a special interest in internal medicine, and a graduate certificate in abdominal ultrasound. She is currently undertaking post graduate study in cardiology. She runs her own mobile ultrasound business and analyses radiographs for other vets on a regular basis.
